2,000 Residents Get Free Medical Service

Jakarta Women's Organizations Cooperation Body (BKOW) held "Women's Action Week". Activities that lasts about one week presents a variety of social activities.

Hopefully, the event will boost our concern to assist the resident

As the peak of the event, leisurely walk that took place in the courtyard of City Hall Jakarta held on Sunday (12/20) and was attended by 600 members.

The activity was held to welcome Mother's Day which is celebrated every December 22. Previously, a series of social events has been held in five cities in Jakarta such as in Jatinegara Barat Flat, Nyi Ageng Serang Building, Pesakih, Marunda flat and on Jl Imam Bonjol by cooperating with the Lions Club.

Women's Organization Appealed to Have Synergy with Government

The activities are, free examination against pregnant mother, examination of child's eye, cataract treatment, teeth and providing free glasses. A total of 2,000 citizens get free of charge service.

Chairwoman of Jakarta BKOW, Happy Farida Hidayat said, leisure walk was the closing for the event. It was also aimed to foster concern for BKOW’s members to residents.

"Hopefully, the event will boost our concern to assist the resident," she said, Sunday (12/20).

Farida added the activity also could improve the solidity of the organization. In the near future, she hopes BKOW can further enhance the role in residents life.
