A number of 100 joint personnel assisted by residents held communal work cleaning Cipinang river in RW 08, Cipinang Muara, Jatinegara. The activity was led by East Jakarta Mayor, Bambang Musyawardana.

It should be maintained and cared for

The cleaning carried out by using manual tools like hoes, shovels, machetes, and etc. Hundreds of officers and residents were enthusiastically cleaned and transported trash from river. Afterwards, the trash was transported using large trucks and disposed into the nearest temporary disposal site.

Officers involved in the activity were from Cleanliness Sub-Department, Water Management Sub-Department, Satpol PP and Infrastructure and Public Handling (PPSU).

"It should be maintained and cared for. But unluckily many residents seemed not aware about  the environment, "he complained, Sunday (12/20).

Therefore, he asked Cipinang Muara Urban Village Head to instruct PPSU officers do the cleaning.

"Headman supposed to post ban trash banner. To give detterent effect you can impose harsh sanction against offender then," he finished.
