No Special Regulation for Ojek, Basuki Says

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama, said that there will be no special regulation regarding the operational of online ojek in the capital.

“I don’t think it is necessary. Ojek will soon disappear,” he said during the opening of 2015 Governor’s Futsal Cup in Planet Futsal, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Sunday (12/20).

According to him, ojek will disappear after the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system is applied. “We prepare double-decker bus for you to go through ERP’s road,” he added.

Basuki: As long As Not Violate, Ojek Is Allowed

He assessed that many double-decker buses will attract ojek’s passenger to use the bus.

“ERP will not allow motorcycle to pass. Free double-decker bus is the solution,” he continued.

Basuki stated that the number of motorcycle riders will decrease significantly by implementing this strategy.

“Riders will look for parking lot to park their motorcycle and continuing their trip by using free buses,” he stated.
