Basuki to Obey Online Motorcycle Taxi Ban From Transportation Ministry

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama acknowledged his party to comply and follow a ban for online motorcycle taxi and taxi operational issued by Transportation Ministry.

As a Governor, I must obey ministry’s letter. For me, I don't object to GoJek (Motorcycle taxi application-based), as long as they registered as application company

 “As a Governor, I must obey ministry’s letter. For me, I don't object to GoJek (Motorcycle taxi application-based), as long as they registered as application company. But the problem is the black-plate number vehicle,” he said, in Kota Tua, West Jakarta, Friday (12/18).

He stressed that GoJek has been existed since long time ago. “It's fine, as long as they obey the rule, like wearing an helmet. Its existence is useful and helpful you know,” he disclosed.

Nevertheless, he remains obey Transportation Ministry's regulation and crack down on motorists without helmet. “We just obey the rules,” he uttered.

He continued motorcycle taxi is a favorite alternative transportation for people than other public transports.

As known, Transportation Minister, Ignatius Jonan issued an operation ban for online motorcycle taxi and taxi. It does not meet the requirement as public transport. The ban contained in the Notice No. UM.3012/1/21/Phb/2015. This decision was issued November 9, 2015.
