Channel Normalization Projects in S. Jakarta Faced Many Problems

A number of channel normalization projects which were carried out in several areas in South Jakarta seemed facing problem. This is because the third party who carried out the project has not met any specification.

The worst condition seen on Jalan Mubarok and Permata  Hijau

Head of South Jakarta Water Management, Deddy Budiwidodo mentioned the projects are located on Jalan Mubarok, Permata Hijau, Kebayoran Lama and also Jalan Cibulan, Kebayoran Baru.

“The worst condition is seen on Jalan Mubarok and Permata  Hijau. The contractor performed dredging work with different equipment, while another problem is located on Jalan Cibulan due to being neglected,” he remarked.

Bad Working Performance, 2 Contractors Blacklisted

Whereas, the project carried out on Jalan Cibulan is worth Rp 4.6 billion. “Indeed many problems occurred,” he regretted.

Budiwidodo conveyed that his party has warned the contractor to finish their work completely in accordance with contract agreement.

“We’ve appealed them. The problem mostly occurred in utility and excavation matter,” he closed.
