Supermarket in S. Jakarta Raided From Expired Foods

In a bid to anticipate expired foods approaching Christmas and New Year’s Eve, the South Jakarta Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperative (KUMKMP) Sub-Department held raid in one of supermarkets located in Gandaria City, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.

Head of South Jakarta KUKMP Sub-Department, Syamsu Rizal Kadafi conveyed the raid was done as a form of customer’s protection.

The raid aims to protect people from expired foods and beverages in supermarket,” he stated, Monday (12/21).

Relaying on Beritajakarta.com's watch list, the KUMKMP officers take two samples of meatball packs that indicated expired and containing hazardous materials to be tested in laboratory belongs to Jakarta Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM).

“We’ll check whether the food contains from harmful substance or not,” he said.
