IOC Chose Jakarta to Host 2018 Asian Games

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama stated the appointment of Jakarta as a host of 2018 Asian Games is the final decision from International Olympic Committee (IOC). Previously, he had encouraged the event to be taken place in Palembang for improving economy wheel in the city.

As Jakarta was chosen as the host, he plans to build athlete guesthouse but it seems hamper to be realized due to City has no approval from House of Representatives (DPR RI) for land designation in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

“We have no approval to realize it,” he stressed.
Previously, Vice President, Jusuf Kalla conveyed that there should be monumental development to welcome the upcoming 2018 Asian Games. He cited, there is an example of monumental construction which is useful for residents, namely Jaka Baring Stadium.
