No Night Entertainment Stage on New Year's Eve

Due to the construction of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), Jakarta Provincial Government decided to scrap entertainment stage along Jalan Sudirman until MH Thamrin on New Year's Eve celebration, Thursday (12/31).

"To prevent unwanted things, I have to scrap entertainment night stage for a while," said Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, Jakarta Governor, at City Hall, Tuesday (12/29).

He continued, the celebration along both road will be done in case of the construction has been completed. Sidewalks will be widened up to 10 meters along the road.

New Year Eve, Entrance Tickets Fare of TMII Increased

"We gonna gather at the area once the project had completed," he remarked.

This year, the peak of New Year's Eve celebration will be centralized in Ancol, North Jakarta. However, he has said that he plans to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Ancol, North Jakarta.

"I’ll celebrate there," he uttered.

Meanwhile, the entertainment will be organized by each municipality in order to enliven the event. 

"We entrust it to respective headmen," he closed.
