No Need Diploma to Become Transjakarta Bus Driver

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama once again asserted that Jakartans do not need to attach a diploma to apply as a Transjakarta bus driver. "As long as you can drive and have driver license, you can become Transjakarta bus driver," he expressed, at City Hall, Thursday (1/7).

He disclosed, in future, there will be many Transjakarta buses operate 24 hours thus his party needs more drivers. For one bus, there must be at least five drivers.

Nevertheless, the driver candidates are required to undergo the training how to driver in good manner.

Transjakarta Ready to Prepare 1,000 New Buses

Previously, Basuki promised that would pay Transjakarta bus driver up to twofold from 2016 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP), which is Rp 3.1 million per month.

Bus driver's necessity increased, because the governor also continues to encourage other public transports to join Transjakarta. It aims to improve public service.

Jakarta Provincial Government would also apply a fare for public transport as much as Rp 3,500.
