Starting this year, the operational and entertainment venue permit that located inside big buildings must have technical recommendation from Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Department.

"For giving entertainment venue permit, we involved the department. There is technical recommendation from us regarding entertainment venue that will be issued permit," expressed Jon Vendri, Head of Fire Mitigation Section for Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Department, Monday (1/11).

He disclosed, second alternative, the supervision towards karaoke places is done along with Satpol PP, Tourism and Culture Department, One-Stop Integrated Service Agency (BPTSP) and City Spatial Planning Department.

"We've discussed it with related units and we have agreed to give a warning. The warning responsibility lies in BTSP as permit issuer," he expressed.

He assessed, such warning mentions the BPTSP will give deadline to the building and entertainment venue owners to fix early protection system for six months.

"We will monitor. If there is no progress within six months, we will revoke the operational and business permit," he stressed.

Based on an investigation towards 24 entertainment venues, a number of early fire protection items are not eligible. Among them are lights and emergency doors, directional exit, emergency alarm and light fire extinguisher (Apar).

"Of the 24 entertainment venues, all had notes and findings. This will be followed up by BPTSP," he uttered.
