"We hope the groundbreaking for LRT will be realized in the upcoming July," expressed Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama, at City Hall, Tuesday (1/19).
Basuki disclosed, his party is still waiting for trace changes. This is because trace overlap LRT and Mass Rapid Transit (MRT).
LRT Delayed for 4 Months"This is not stopped, we are still waiting for trace changes and MRT, and then will be combined," he told.
There is at least nine stations that overlap between MRT and LRT in the existing trace. LRT route is consisting of Kelapa Gading-Pegangsaan-Kebayoran Lama with MRT Timur-Barat. "There are the same nine stations," he stated.
Predictably, trace changes needs four months. Thus LRT construction must be postponed first while waiting for its changes.
