Traditional Vehicle to Become Tourism Transport, Djarot Says

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, said that traditional vehicles such as andong (cart), pedicab, and bemo which are still operating in the capital can be used to support tourism sector.

“I think the number is sufficient. Just supporting our tourism sector,” he said, Thursday (1/21).

Based on its number, traditional vehicle in the capital is still bigger compared to other cities in Indonesia. There should be no special regulation since the vehicles do not harm or troubling the citizen.

He agreed with the traditional vehicles are operated as public transport, but the operational is only for supporting the tourism sector.
