Jakarta Governor Basuki T. Purnama wanted the National Monument (Monas) becomes the biggest park and ride in the capital. He then asked the regional working unit (SKPD) to conduct reviewing.

Basuki disclosed, by providing extensive park and ride, will encourage the motorist to switch to public transport. Thus he will continue to contact PT Transjakarta to add more free buses.

"If Jalan Sudirman and Thamrin are bogged down, just park there. And turn to public transport," he expressed.

He went on the say that street vendor in such areas will be re-arranged like in Lenggang Jakarta. 

"We would have the biggest parking lot in Monas. This is first time in the world," he stated.
