Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, admitted to buy heavy equipment in April 2016 in order to support the manhole or building demolishment which cover the water channel.

According to him, his side has intensified the channel normalization. In fact, permanent building or manhole covering the channel has obstructed the effort.

Basuki appealed the resident no to dispose trash into the channel or river.

“Urban Village head must give sanction for residents throwing trash into the channel and river,” he added.
