Facing Imlek, Markets are Inspected

Jakarta Dept. of Maritime, Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) held sudden inspection (sidak) to modern and traditional markets in the capital. The effort is aimed to face Imlek on February 8, 2016.

We found zero formalin during the inspection

“The supervision is held from February 1-5. Random sample is taken from fruits, meat and others,” said Sri Haryati, head board of the agency, Wednesday (2/3).

According to her, the modern markets were inspected are Giant Golden Truly in Central Jakarta, Hero Pondok Indah Mall in South Jakarta, Carrefour Season City in West Jakarta, and Giant Ujung Menteng in East Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the traditional markets are Ujung Menteng, Cakung, East Jakarta, Cilincing Fish Auction, North Jakarta, and Sentra Bandeng, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta.

“We found zero formalin during the inspection,” she admitted.
