Land Subsidence in Muara Angke Reaches 2.14 Meters

Land subsidence that occurred in Muara Angke area, North Jakarta is quite alarming. Since 2000-2014, its subsidence was reaching 2.14 meters.

"In North area, is still laden with land subsidence. And it causes potential of tidal flood disaster is high. Moreover, the sea water has also increased," said Agus Saryanto, Head of Geology and Mineral Resources for Jakarta Dept of Industry and Energy, Friday (2/5).

As for the land subsidence that is relatively small, is located in Central Jakarta, South Jakarta and East Jakarta. With details, land subsidence at Jalan Sudirman reaches 0,34 meters, Kuningan 0,25 meters, Kebayoran Baru 0.25 meters and Cibubur 0.21 meters. It happens in the same time span.

"The monitoring, measurement and evaluation of the land subsidence is using geodetic technology (GPS)," he told.
