Rice Price at Induk Market Declines

Entering the harvest season, the rice price at traditional market Pasar Induk Cipinang declines. In last January, the price was fluctuate. At this moment, rice stock at the market is 52 ton.

During his inspection, Minister of Agriculture, Amran Sulaiman, admitted that the rice price is declining drastically. Indramayu rice is Rp 7,500/kg from Rp 8,500/kg.

Zulkifli (55), one of traders, said the rice has declined since a week ago. He predicted the price will remain declining because of harvest season and market operation.

“Bulog’s rice was Rp 8,500/kg but now Rp 8,000/kg,” he said.

The IR64 quality number 2 rice was sold Rp 9,800/kg and now Rp 7,500/kg, while IR4 quality number 1 is sold Rp 9,300-9,400/kg.
