Basuki to Delete Discount for Jasa Marga's Land and Building Tax

Jakarta Governor Basuki T. Purnama acknowledged will delete the Land and Building Tax (PBB)’s discount for toll road in the capital that was requested by PT Jasa Marga. To open toll access in Pulogebang Terminal, the city administration must pay guarantee by Rp 4 billion.

“They (PT Jasa Marga) ask discount for land and building tax by 50 percent, it can reach hundreds billions you know. We then ask them to open toll gate towards Pulogebang Terminal but they ask us to pay the IT (information and technology),” he stated, at City Hall, Monday (2/15).

Road access towards Pulogebang Terminal is one of the causes have not been able to operate until today. Hence, Basuki was willing to pay the guarantee.

“They ask for guarantee around Rp 4 billion if they lose. They wanted me to give discount up to hundreds billions for toll road. I just wanted to consideration,” he asserted.

Such discount will be re-calculated by appraisal team regarding building and land value on toll road. Thereby, the toll user should fully pay the tax. Thus his side gets benefit by Rp 100 billion.

He even plans to increase tax value for toll road in order to increase local tax revenue.
