Basuki Simplifies Permission of Java Jazz

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama is about to give tax cuts and help simplify permission for Java Jazz organizing committee

“We just want to help Java Jazz organizer, which is by supporting them from tax cuts,” he stated, at City Hall, Monday (2/15).

Aside that, he will also mimic the convenience provided by Malaysia and Singapore for a similar implementation.

He is more supporting various international festivals held by private side, rather than holding its own festival. Therefore, he believes the private side will be more leverage in organizing a festival.

“We spend Rp 1.3 trillion to hold festival in Tourism Dept, yet it doesn’t maximal. So let the experts make it,” he exclaimed.

 

He cited, international festival in Jakarta such as Jakarta Fashion Week and Jakarta Fashion, Food and Festival

“This concept makes Jakarta as a festival city, but not from us. Because it’s like we just spend money but make unoptimal festival,” he said.

Meanwhile, Java Jaz Organizing Committee, Dewi Gonta disclosed her side hopes support from Jakarta Provincial Government. Thus, Java Jazz this year could be more festive than before.

“We want more support, such as from permission,” she hoped.
