Until February, 5,000 Foreign Workers Recorded in Jakarta

Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Dept recorded, until February, foreign worker in Jakarta is reaching 5,000 people. Supervision will be tightened against them.

We will see whether they enter in accordance with the rule or not

According to Priyono, Head of Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Dept said, closing ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), Jakarta has become an area of interest of foreign workers. Until early this year, thousands of foreign workers had been in the city are scattered in several companies.

Foreign Workers Arrested in North Jakarta

The city administration will tightly supervise them. It is in accordance with Manpower Ministry No. 16/2015 on Procedures for Control and Use of Foreign Worker.

“We will see whether they enter in accordance with the rule or not. Then there must be accompaniment from our people regarding for each of foreign worker post in the company. Its supervision will be tightened,” he stated, Tuesday (2/16).

They work in various fields, like garment, infrastructure, civil engineering, informatics technology and other industries.

“Those who will stay and work in Jakarta are allowed, as long as they legal permit and firm purpose their work never violate applicable legal rules,” he closed.
