Foreign Worker Supervision Tightened

Welcoming the free trade in 2015, Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Department will increase the supervision of the company which employ the foreign worker. Later, the important positions are forbid to be taken by foreign worker.

The supervision against foreign people is gained starts next year

"The supervision against foreign people is gained starts next year," said Priyono, Head of Jakarta Manpower ans Transmigration Department, Saturday (10/11).

Priyono added, there is regulation which rules position in a company. Not every position can be taken by foreign worker. "Personnel department, foreign worker can not fill the position because it is the entrance of worker," he added.

At this time, Priyono continued, there are 4.7 million active workers in Jakarta. 400 thousand people are listed as job seeker during January to September 2014 period. "The data could change in the end of this year," he continued.

To assist the job seeker, Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Department keeps running the training program in existing training center. "We could train 5-6 thousand people per year. There is computer assembly training, welding, cookery, and business management. Not only special skill but also independent by opening opportunities," he uttered.
