“
70 percent of all cases we received are spouses suing divorce due to domestic violence, or 420 cases . From that amount, 5-10 percent men suffered domestic violence, while 90 percent women became victims of it. 30 percent of 420 cases have received verdict, while the rest is still on process,” stated Head of West Jakarta Religious Court PR, Rizal, Tuesday (4/15).N. Seribu Islands Community Health Center Threatened to Be DismissedAccording to Rizal, the complicated divorcement process happens mostly because of child custody matter and community property division. And based on applicants’ statement, besides domestic violence, another main factor of divorcement is economy factor. Most of divorcement applicants are the wives.
He also disclosed that between two to three years old age of marriage is very prone to problems that could lead to divorcement, with most of the couples suing divorce are 20-30 years old. Rizal admitted that such age is indeed still unstable. So, when there was a problem in their marriage, couples easily asked for divorce.
“That’s why special guidance is needed for husband-wife couples below 30 years old,” he finished.
