Dangerous Foods in East Jakarta Declines

Dangerous foods in East Jakarta starts to decline. It is good for children growth, especially at schools.

We only found 8.9 percent of dangerous food. Last year was 14.3 percent

Dwi Prawitasari, Jakarta Food and Drug Monitoring (BPOM) Head, admitted food samples have been taken randomly from 5,741 school canteens during January to March 2016.

“We only found 8.9 percent of dangerous food. Last year was 14.3 percent,” she said, Friday (3/11).

Unruly Traders Could Be Expelled from Schools

She hopes dangerous foods especially in school canteens could be disappear for the sake of students’ health,

Meanwhile, Eric Petra Lumbun, East Jakarta Economic Assistant, stated school canteen monitoring by involving BPOM is aimed to decrease dangerous food distribution.

“Team would supervise the canteens tightly, as well as food sold by street vendors,” he stated.
