Jakarta's Floods Force Hundreds of Flood Victims Evacuated

Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) recorded, until 6 AM, there are 27 RWs inundated due to overflowing waters of Ciliwung and Pesanggrahan rivers. Then 110 people had to stay at refugee camp.

According to Bambang Suryaputra, Head of Jakarta BPBD's Informatic and Handling Section, water level that inundates 27 RWs reached 10-500 cm.

"The number of refugees is 110 people. They are evacuated in two locations," he told, Saturday (3/12).

Hundreds Evacuate as Floods Inundate Rawajati Houses

He explains those refugees are from Pondok Pinang Urban Village (South Jakarta), precisely at Majelis Ta' lim Al-Khoiriyah with 48 refugees, Cililitan Urban Village (East Jakarta) with 62 refugees in the house belongs to H. Arif RT 08.

At this time, some areas that are still inundated are located in 12 urban villages that spread in South and East Jakarta, as follows;

1. South Jakarta

- Pejaten Timur Urban Village, RW 08 (30 - 60 cm)

- Rawajati Urban Village, RW 07 (20 - 30 cm)

- Bukit Duri Urban Village, RW 10 and 12 (30 - 80 cm)

- Kebon Baru Urban Village, RW 10 (10 - 20 cm)

- Pondok Labu Urban Village, RW 03 (50 cm)

- Pengadegan Urban Village, RW 01 (10 - 20 cm) 

- Petogogan Urban Village, RW 02 (10 - 20 cm)

- Pondok Pinang Urban Village, RW 05 and 08 (70 - 130 cm).

2. East Jakarta

- Cawang Urban Village, RW 01, 02, 03, 05, and RW 08 (60 - 150 cm) 

- Cililitan Urban Village, RW 06, 07 and RW 16 (20 - 200 cm)

- Kampung Melayu Urban Village, RW 01, 02, 03, 04,05, 07 and RW 08 (10 - 125 cm)

- Bidara Cina Urban Village, RW 07 and RW 11 (30 - 80 cm)
