Heavy Rain Inundates 3 RWs in Kalibata

Rain with high intensity yesterday has submerged citizen residential at Jalan Kalibata Selatan and Jalan Kalibata Timur 4, Kalibata, Pancoran, South Jakarta, precisely at RW 05, 08 and 09, with water level reached 20-50 cm.

Not only that, it is also caused by low land contour in the channel from Jalan Kalibata Selatan, Kalibata Utara, Kalibata Tengah and Jalan Samali towards Baru River of Jalan Raya Pasar Minggu, thus water cannot flow smoothly

In details, the flood has been soaking RW 05 (RT 10, 09, 05 and 14), RW 09 (RT 10 and 07) and RW 08 (RT 08, 07, 06, and 05).

Kalibata Urban Village Head, Denny Isnandar disclosed such flood was due to encounter among connecting channel from Jalan Kalibata Tengah and Kalibata Selatan that empties into Pulo and Krukut rivers. Thus water then clogged.

"Not only that, it is also caused by low land contour in the channel from Jalan Kalibata Selatan, Kalibata Utara, Kalibata Tengah and Jalan Samali towards Baru River of Jalan Raya Pasar Minggu, thus water cannot flow smoothly," he stated, Tuesday (3/15).

He urged local citizens to turn off electricity in the home. Considering water has not been receded significantly due to heavy rain.

"Locals also request the channel to be repaired through Musrenbang, Pancoran Sub-district," he finished.
