BPJS Contract Worker in Jakarta Covered by APBD

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama ensured will cover the entire premium for the payment of Workers and Health Social Security Agency (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and Kesehatan) for contract workers under Jakarta Provincial Government. This is to encourage the citizens have insurance.

"All will be covered with City Budget (APBD)," he said, at City Hall, Wednesday (3/16).

He details, there are some benefits if workers joined in BPJS Kesehatan. One of them, death can convert up to 48 times from basic salary. It can later be used to help families and heirs of BPJS who have died.

"If there is someone died during work hour, the family will get 48 times from basic salary. The current UMP is Rp 3.1 million, it means Rp 148,800,000 can be received. Another benefit is can get scholarship as much as Rp 12 million," he expressed.

Basuki added that they will get death insurance as much as Rp 24 million. Because BPJS is very important for every worker and citizen.

"This is an obligation. Our law also force all must have register the BPJS," he uttered.
