Jakarta Dept. of City Cleanliness is about to prepare personnel at several spots of Ciliwung river to block garbage sent from mainstream. It is done after Kalibata bridge in Rawajati, South Jakarta was demolished.
Since Kalibata bridge was demolished, garbage would pile up along Ciliwung river
Ali Maulana Hakim, department’s vice, admitted his side has mapped Ciliwung river on Sunday (3/20).
“Since Kalibata bridge was demolished, garbage would pile up along Ciliwung river. Personnel and heavy equipment are deployed,” he said, Monday (3/21).
According to him, garbage could pile up at Kampung Melayu bridge and Slamet Riyadi bridge.
“Personnel and heavy equipment are deployed at Kampung Melayu bridge. No heavy equipment for Slamet Riyadi bridge since the location is impossible,” he added.
If the garbage is escape, personnel would also blocking at Manggarai sluice gate and Ciliwung Kota.
