6 Dim-Lighted Stalls in Cipayung Intentionally Burned

The cause of fire that burned six dim-lighted stalls on Jalan Keramat Duri, RT 02/04, Bambu Apus Urban Village, Cipayung Sub-District, East Jakarta, is finally revealed. The police suspected the stalls were intentionally burned because they found several mineral water bottles filled with gasoline. Moreover, the police also arrested two suspects initialed DK (29) and HS (35) who had argued with the stall owner before.

Right now, two men who are alleged as the burning perpetrators have been secured and questioned. We also have asked statement from six witnesses to reveal this case

Based on the information gathered, around 10 PM on Friday (4/18) both suspects asked money for security to the stall owner for as much as Rp 10 thousand per stall. But due to there were not much of visitors at that time, the stall owner refused the request. Because of that, both suspects angry and had a fight with the stall owner until they burned the stalls.

Right now, two men who are alleged as the burning perpetrators have been secured and questioned. We also have asked statement from six witnesses to reveal this case. In addition, a knife, which believed had been used to threaten the stall owner, has been seized,” stated East Jakarta Resort Police Crime Unit Chief AKBP Didik Sugiarto, Saturday (4/19).

According to Sugiarto, both suspects will be charged with Criminal Code (KUHP) article 335 jo 368 about unpleasant action and extortion with five years of imprisonment.

As reported before, the fire has killed three women named Yeni (21), Cika (25), and Dede a.k.a. Ade (27). All of them were found dead with face down position in a bathroom with horrible conditions, in which 90 percent of their bodies burned.
