Tombs in Menteng Pulo TPU will Be Inventoried

Lack of cemetery land in the capital makes several lands had to conduct overlap. But it is only imposed for tombs which have not renewed the permit. Tomb inventory will soon be done.

Head of Jakarta Park and Cemetery Dept, Ratna Diah Kurniati disclosed her dept has asked the illegal tomb to be inventoried.

"There are some old tombs in Menteng Pulo Public Cemetery (TPU). That is why we will do inventory," she stated, in Menteng Pulo TPU, Thursday (4/7).

In rule, permit renewal should be done once in three years. Her dept will give tolerance for three months until the tomb heirs pay retribution.

"If not, we will contact the family side where the tomb will be overlaped. Considering cemetery land is pretty narrow," she said.
