JIS Janitors Underwent Blood Test

The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) forced the management of Jakarta International School (JIS) to provide medical check up for their kindergarten students. It is aimed to prove no students got sexual abuse case done by school janitors.

Erlinda expected there is still another victim besides AK (6). "Other parents told us that their children have behavior changed. But they afraid to report," she added.

City Police Head Division for Public Relation, Sr. Comr. Rikwanto explained the JIS outsourcng employees were having medical check up yesterday at Police Hospital Kramat Jati, East Jakarta. "About 28 employees undergo blood test," he explained.

According to him, the test was intentionally to answer KPAI concerns related with this case. "The blood test would complete if there is another findings," he added.

Meanwhile, Otto Cornelis Kaligis, AK's legal counsel, had filed the lawsuit in South Jakarta District Court yesterday morning.

"I sue JIS and ministry because of no legal license from Ministry of Education and Culture for its kindergarten. JIS was also arrogant refusing ministry's delegation for reviewing and audit purpose. They quibbled no permission from JIS head," Kaligis stated.

The lawsuit posted to ministry is based on review due to negligent in supervising. The ministry did not know JIS has organized early childhood education illegally. "This is national concern. The case is related with child protection and education right," he added.
