Family of Hit-and-Run Victim Gets Compensation

East Jakarta Mayor, Krisdianto, gives compensation as much as Rp 5 million to the family of late Edy Surahmat (45), an employee of East Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, who died in a hit-and-run accident on Jalan Alu-alu, Rawamangun Urban Village, Pulogadung Sub-District, East Jakarta, a while ago.

This compensation is given as a form of East Jakarta Administration’s concern to the victim’s family. On behalf of East Jakarta Administration, we are deeply grieved over this incident

The money was officially handed over to Benhard Hutajulu, Head of East Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, on the second floor of Mayor Office, Tuesday (4/22).

“Don’t see the amount. This compensation is given as a form of East Jakarta Administration’s concern to the victim’s family. On behalf of East Jakarta Administration, we are deeply grieved over this incident. Hopefully the family is given the fortitude and patience. And for Transportation Sub-Department Head, please help the heirs in processing the victim’s insurance and pension fund,” stated Krisdianto.

Hit-and-Run on Jalan Alun-alun, 2 Injured

Head of East Jakarta Muslim Charity Collection Board (BAZIS), Dwi Busara, who attended the occasion, hopes the compensation could bring benefits to the victim’s family.
