Jakarta Dept. of Transportation held a raid for public transport fare in Blok M terminal, South Jakarta, Tuesday (4/12). Many of public transports applying old fares are ticketed.

Based on Beritajakarta.com’s observation, agency’s personnel not only questioning public transport crew but also the passengers.

“We pay Rp 4,000 with two Rp 2,000. He did not give us change,” said Sri Haryati (33), one of passengers of Metromini 69.

Another passenger, Fitri (40), admitted she did not know if new public transport fares is already applied. It is because of no announcement sticker attached on the bus.

“Sticker of announcement should be attached on the bus,” she complained.

Meanwhile, Welly Haryanto, Terminal Operational UPT of Dept. of Transportation, explained new public transport fares has been announced since April 8, 2016 via loudspeaker and banner.

“Many of public transports are ticketed due to applying old fares,” he explained.
