"I think reclamation is a necessity for big cities like Jakarta. But there must be good planning and right amdal," he said, at City Hall, Thursday (4/14).

Yet, he lamented reclamation in Jakarta tainted with bribery case, involving Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD). "So now it's more distortion discussion for corruption. But reclamation itself, I think the big cities in the world already use for a solution to the problem of limited land," he expressed.

Reclamation Permit can Be Revoked

Nevertheless, he asked Jakarta Provincial Government to remain prioritize the resident's interest. "It's just important managed by proper amdal because there must be a true and comprehensive study of the impact," he furthered.

He added that the legal process must remain be taken, yet for the continuation of the reclamation of the island should be seen clearly. This is because reclaimed island required by big cities.

"The problem is lack of land. So reclamation can be option, as long as the amdal does make negative flow. Corruption is supposed to be separated from reclamation. Corruptor must be punished but reclamation should be seen clearly," he uttered.
