"If you do not want to lose the original icon of Jakarta, Brahminy Kites, it must be cultivated, preserved and got the attention of all parties," said Djarot after attending the International Forest Day, in Karya Island, North Seribu Islands, Thursday (4/14).

Ahead of International Forest Day, Pramuka Island Cleaned

According to him, the Brahminy kites, either in the wild and or in the park national conservation, Kotok Besar Island, Panggang Island Urban Village, is rare. Therefore, he expects serious breeding could be done.

"So, there must be maximal preservation at the bird conservation in Kotok Besar Island," he added.

Besides Brahminy kites breeding, he added, similar thing must also be done on mangrove seedling. Thus Seribu Islands can be protected from abrasion and maintain its ecosystem.
