National Park Must Prosper Residents

Ministry of Living Environment and Forestry was committed that the concept of national parks development work, in accordance with President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo should be oriented as a base for regional development.

National park must be beneficial to the welfare of the people, either in Seribu Islands or in other islands.

"National park must be beneficial to the welfare of the people, either in Seribu Islands or in other islands. Thus nature and its contents shall be preserved and controlled well," expressed Siti Nurbaya Bakar, Minister of Living Environment and Forestry, after Launching of National Salvation Movement Plants and Wildlife, in Karya Island, North Seribu Islands, Thursday (4/14).

According to Siti, in such national movement, is not only in Seribu Islands but also in other areas. They are Central Kalimantan, South Sumatera, West Kalimantan, Maluku, Lampung, Central Sulawesi Central Java, Gunung Ciremai, West Java, Banyuwangi, Makasar and Sorong, Papua.

"We release 1,154 birds, 2 bears, tortoises and turtles today. With hope, animal proliferation in the wild could be growing well," she exclaimed.

She added, mangrove land that spread in Indonesia is reaching 3.7 million hectares and the good one reaches 2.6 million hectares. Its planting in Karya Island can add number of tree and its wide in Indonesia.
