651 Bus Transjakarta Baru Diluncurkan

651 New Transjakarta Buses Launched

PT Transjakarta is launching 651 new Transjakarta buses which consist of 600 single buses and 51 articulated buses today, Monday (4/18). Launching itself is conducted by Head of Jakarta Transportation Dept, Andri Yansyah, Director of PT Transjakarta, Budi Kaliwono and General Director of Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Unit, Sr. Comr. Risyapudin.

All fleets that operate have passed KIR test. In future, there will be 600 additional bus again from PPD and 50 Mayasari Bakti buses from Scania

Yansyah disclosed it is a follow up of the meeting of coordination with Polda Metro Jaya, Bina Marga and other related units. This step was taken after the elimination of three-in-one, where there should be an increase in mass transportation. Today the new fleet immediately launched in order to encourage residents to switch to mass transportation.

"Additional bus is hoped able to attract people to use mass transportation. That's why we launch additional fleet today," he told.

Director of PT Transjakarta, Budi Kaliwono added, those 651 fleets will be spread at 17 new routes, either direct route or feeder route from train station. Until now, the bus that operates serve people reaches 788 fleets.

"All fleets that operate have passed KIR test. In future, there will be 600 additional bus again from PPD and 50 Mayasari Bakti buses from Scania," he disclosed. 

He mentions, the number of bus that operates at corridor 1 is 247 fleets, comprising 122 single buses and 25 articulated buses. They are trusted to be enough to carry passengers in corridor 1 (Blok M-Kota) with headway about 30 seconds per vehicle.
