Waterways Superivision in C. Jakarta Is Unoptimal

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama, asserted streets that spread in Jakarta must be free from inundation. Because it can lead to a long traffic congestion. Moreover, it is worsened with trash, which is actually able to be minimized.

Take a look at the night of the week, why inundation always happen overnight, it is because of trash heaps

"Take a look at the night of the week, why inundation always happen overnight, it is because of trash heaps," he stated, at City Hall, Monday (4/18).

He had praised Central Jakarta area, as virtually no inundation again. But upon entering the summer, surveillance of waterways is unoptimal. Thus many trashes are stuck when it rains.

8 Roads in Jakarta Inundated

"Central Jakarta is actually already free from inundation. But it was inundated last Sunday, and gave me an answer that "it has receded, Sir". I don't want this answer, I just want no more inundation," he asserted.

Basuki has ordered mayor to supervise the waterways. Thus inundation could be prevented when it rains. "Perhaps, the officer did not expect rain, so they ignore it. If a channel is inundated, it will surely lead to inundation. So just keep monitoring," he asserted.
