Artificial Lake Constructed in Semper Barat

Jakarta Provincial Government plans to buy land on Jalan Tipar Timur, RT 15/04, Semper Barat, Cilincing. The land will be constructed as artificial lake to preserve water from surrounding channel.
Surrounding channels such as Kali Gubuk Genteng will flow to the lake
Benhard, Semper Barat Urban Village Head, admitted the land buying process would be conducted this year. The project will be run by Dept. of Water Management.

Semper Barat Flat Construction Has Touched 10 FloorsBesides functioning as flood handling during rainy season, lake could be used as water storage durinf dry season.
Uje (43), one of residents, admitted to support this project. Artificial lake will be useful as solution solving flood during rainy season.
"Semper Barat is prone to puddle during rainy season. I agree if artificial lake to be constructed here," he said.
Unfortunately, North Jakarta Head Sub-dept. of Water Management, Herning Wahyuningsih, could not be contacted to give an official statement.
