Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama said sidewalk widening is not only applied for Jalan Sudirman and Jalan MH Thamrin, but also Jalan Pramuka and Cempaka Putih.

According to him, his side is focusing on widening sidewalk rather than adding road for the sake of pedestrian comfort.

As the first stage, the project is applied on Jalan Sudirman and Jalan MH Thamrin. Green lane on the area will be eliminated. Green lane will be used to widen sidewalk by 9.5 meters.
Basuki asks the trees should not be cut, but pruned only. "Waiting trees to grow like present condition is too long," he closed.
