7,479 New Street Lights will Be Installed in E. Jakarta

For the sake of public safety, the East Jakarta Industry and Energy Sub-Department is scheduled to install 7,479 new street lights in 18 sub-districts this year.

We'll install 1,489 street lights in Ciracas. Currently, the existing lights are only 500 and is deemed still lacking

Of the 7,479 street lamps, 1,489 out of them will be installed in Ciracas, 1,105 street ligths in Duren Sawit Sub-District, 1,056 street lights in Cipayung Sub-District, 755 street lights in Matraman, 620 street lights in Kramatjati, 601 street lights in Pulogadung, 585 street lights in Cakung Sub-District, 509 street lights in Pasar Rebo, 419 street lights in Jatinegara Sub-District, and 340 street lights in Makasar Sub-District.

Head of East Jakarta Industry and Energy Sub-Department, Tuti Kurniati disclosed we will hold a tender and then continued with street light installation after funds in this April disbursed. "We'll install 1,489 street lights in Ciracas. Currently, the existing lights are only 500 and is deemed still lacking," she expressed, Tuesday (4/22).

Locals Complaining Street Light Poles in the Middle of Road

Such installation is a response of citizen's worry against crime and accidents due to lack of lighting in their neighborhood.

"Per 3 poles will be installed by 2 lamps. Whereas, the distance between street light is very far. I hope all street lights could be installed in the near future," he stated.
