Basuki Supports on Controllng Monas Visitors and Cadgers

Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki T Purnama supports the effort of controlling cadgers (PKL) and visitors in National Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta.

Basuki said that his party has prepared trade spots for cadgers in IRTI park area, yet they still choose to sell in Monas park areas.

Monas Visitors Remains Free from Rp 20 Million Fine

“We will fight them legally. We will try to stop you in accordance with the cash penalty of Rp 20 million," he said.

Basuki explained that the ban on buying goods to cadgers is listed in Local Bill No. 8/2007 about Public Order. "In Article 61, there is an explanation of the threat of criminal sanctions of 60 days imprisonment or a fine of Rp 20 million," he explained.

Basuki assessed the maximal sanction listed in that regulation could solve the mushrooming cadgers. “This is a trade law. If there is no one buys, no one will sell. If there are buyers, the seller will come more, need more space. Where should we put them?” he added.

Besides warn the buyers this former of Belitung Timur Regency will give a penalty for cadgers who are stubborn to trade in Monas park.
