Clear Sanction Needed to Control Illegal Huts, Basuki Says

Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama annoyed to see illegal buildings lived by scavengers under Wiyoto Wiyono toll road, North Jakarta. Basuki also blames PLN that is still giving electricity.

Basuki assessed there is no clear punishment or sanction to stop the scavengers. Besides, the cost to rent illegal building under Wiyoto Wiyono toll road is cheaper than rented house.

Illegal Huts Rampant Again under Wiyoto Wiyono Toll

So that, Jakarta Provincial Government will control the illegal building soon.

"We're already involving North Jakarta Mayor for controlling the illegal building. Clear sanction have to be provided," Basuki said at City Hall, Tuesday (4/22).

According to him, the scavengers also paid rent cost to some thugs. Moreover, tens of those illegal building are electrified by PLN.

Previously, the scavengers returned to occupy illegal huts under Wiyoto Wiyono toll road up to Bambu River, Warakas and Papanggo, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

The huts are made of scraps. Inside the huts, there are complete electronic goods such as radio, television, fan, dispenser, up to gas stove.
