Fire Destroys Home in Kebon Melati

Fire razed a home in a densely populated area, Jl Tenaga Listrik I, No. 11, Kebon Melati, Tanah Abang, Tuesday (5/3).

According to Muchtar Zakaria, Head of Operational Section for Central Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept, fire broke out at around 9.15 AM. His sub-dept immediately sent 16 fire trucks to the scene.

He furthered, it was triggered by electricity short-circuit from air-conditioning. "And the loss reached hundreds of millions rupiah," he said.
