"Living a healthy lifestyle benefits every aspect of our lives. It helps keep our minds, emotions, and spirits healthy. That is why Jakarta is seriously committed to organizing various sporting events, which I call an 'Epicenter of Events'," Pramono highlighted.
The race will feature two categories, 5K and 10K, with routes covering parts of South Jakarta.
"I hear the event will be held in South Jakarta. Come, join in, and have fun," he encouraged.
The Jakarta Provincial Government is also expanding Car Free Day (CFD) to three other administrative cities to encourage healthier lifestyles, complementing the existing events along the Sudirman-Thamrin corridor and in Rasuna Said.
Pramono believes that running events and the expansion of CFD will also help stimulate local economic activity.
Meanwhile, PAM Jaya President Director Arief Nasrudin said the company's support for the event was also intended to raise public awareness of the importance of PAM Jaya's clean water services.
"As PAM Jaya is currently undertaking extensive development work, we need the public's support in spreading the word about the importance of clean water for Jakarta's future. We must complete our service coverage by 2029," he explained.
Arief added that access to clean water was essential for meeting residents' daily needs and maintaining public health.
JEKATE Running 2026 Race Director Reza Puspo said the race would start and finish at the South Jakarta Mayor's Office. He assured participants that the route would be completely closed to motorized vehicles to ensure runners' safety.
"Runners can be assured that the route will be 100 percent free of motorized vehicles. It will also provide a good opportunity for those looking to achieve a personal best," he emphasized.
The organizers will also set up water stations every 2.5 kilometers, offering mineral water, isotonic drinks, and bananas.
JEKATE Running 2026, which carries the theme "JEKATE RUN, Feel the Flow", is open to the public. Those interested in joining can register through jekaterunning.id or tiket.com, with fees of Rp250,000 for the 5K and Rp350,000 for the 10K.
