The dredging project done by Jakarta Dept. of Water Management on Ancol River, North Jakarta resulted plastic waste.
The condition has been reported to Jakarta Dept. of Water Management
The plastic came up after the heavy equipment dredged the muds.
Based on Beritajakarta.com’s observation, plastic waste filled the river starting from bridge connecting Jalan Raya RE Martadinata towards Jalan Lodan.
Sunter River Culverts CloggedAs many as 15 freelancers were deployed to clean the waste.
Jhony (45), one of project supervisors, admitted North Jakarta Sub-dept. of Water Management transported two trucks of waste everyday.
“The condition has been reported to Jakarta Dept. of Water Management. We keep cleaning the river now,” he said, Sunday (5/8).
