1,714 CCTVs Connected to Smart City

The city administration is targeting to install 4,000 closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras in all regions of the city. Currently, there are 1,714 CCTV that already connected to the Smart City program.

Head of Smart City Technical Management, Setiaji disclosed some CCTVs that have been connected with Smart City are installed at sluice gate in Jakarta, protocol roads, parks, bus stops, pedestrian bridges and flats. He explains, its installation is also the result of cooperation with optical fiber provider.

"All has been connected with Smart City. So we can do monitoring Transportation and Water Management dept," he stated, Thursday (5/12).

He explains, 4,000 cameras could already be installed in June. Thus far, 1,400 cameras are over cooperation with optical fiber provider and the rest are from City Budget (APBD). In this matter, the city gets telecom provider compensation for micro cell installation.

He also ensures CCTV that has been installed in RPTRA can be monitored by residents. Hopefully, it could make Jakarta as city surveillance. In future, his side also plans to install wifi at each camera.

"Thus far we are still focused on wifi in RPTRA," he closed.
