Jakarta Transportation Dept has installed 83 closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras in all the roads along Transjakarta bus corridor and road junction in Jakarta.

Several days ahead, we will add CCTV up to 105 units. And then added again up to 22 units later

Head of Traffic Handling System Management Unit for Jakarta Transportation Dept, Susilo Dewanto said 83 CCTVs have been connected with Jakarta Smart City. In the near future, its number will be added up to 105 units.

"Several days ahead, we will add CCTV up to 105 units. And then added again up to 22 units later," he told, Thursday (5/12).

He explains, such cameras are installed to monitor traffic flow and help officer to manage traffic.

"It is monitored from our command center at Jl Abdul Muis," he expressed.

His side can monitor public transport that stops on the roadside, and then direct the officer to control them. The camera has been installed since 2012-2014 through City Budget (APBD). Besides Transjakarta bus and road junction, it is also installed along pedestrian bridge.

"This camera is installed to monitor traffic flow under the bridge," he finished.
