Reported by TP Moan Simanjuntak | Translated by Nugroho Adibrata
The widening project of Pesanggrahan River in Kebon Jeruk and Kembangan sub-districts, West Jakarta, is hampered by land acquisition problem. Out of 1,500 land plots, only 10 percent of it acquired until now. The rest land plots have not because the landowners have yet to agree the compensation offered.
We just acquired 10 land plots. The rest land plots haven’t acquired because there is no agreement yet on the land price
“We just acquired 10 land plo
ts, namely seven in Sukabumi Selatan Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk Sub-District, and three in Srengseng Urban Village, Kembangan Sub-District. The rest land plots haven’t acquired because there is no agreement yet on the land price,” stated Head of Arrangement Sub-Division for West Jakarta Spatial and Land Sub-Department, Zaini, Saturday (4/26).Moreover, Zaini detailed the targets of land acquisition, namely Sukabumi Utara 64 land plots, Kelapa Dua 33 land plots, and Kebon Jeruk 22 land plots (Kebon Jeruk Sub-District), as well as Srengseng 40 land plots and Kembangan Utara 23 land plots (Kembangan Sub-District). As for Kedoya Selatan, Kedoya Utara, and Kembangan Selatan urban villages which have hundreds of land plots, there are no land acquisition area maps yet because his party is still doing inventory.
Jokowi: Land Acquisition Must Not Harm Residents!“Because of that, for the mean time, the widening project is focused on private developers’ social and public facilities lands which located along Pesanggrahan River. The process has reached 90 percent completion. While for the land acquisition, this year we’re targeting about 70 percent completion by spending Rp 200 billion. Last year, we spent about Rp 18 billion,” he uttered.
Zaini hopes the land acquisition process could finish in 2015. As for now, his party and sub-district apparatuses are continuously doing socialization to those affected by Pesanggrahan River widening project.
For information, Pesanggrahan River widening project has been going on since the beginning of 2013. The project’s length reaches 26.74 kilometers and width 40-45 meters. At this time, the width of Pesanggrahan River is only about 8-12 meters.
