City Uses Bylaw for Alcohol Regulation

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama back using bylaw for alcohol regulation. The policy is taken after Minister of Trade revoked Minister of Trade Regulation (Permendagri) No. 6/2015 about alcohol distribution, selling, and handling.

Our regulation does not prohibit alcohol fully, but only limiting to its buyer

According to him, previously Jakarta Provincial Government used the minister regulation as the law base. Now the city administration uses Bylaw No. 8/2007 about Public Order.

“Our regulation is back to Bylaw,” he said, Monday (5/23).
