13 Semanan Residents Infected with Chikungunya

As many as 13 residents of Kampung Pesakih, RW 01, Semanan Urban Village, Kalideres Sub-District, West Jakarta, are infected with chikungunya disease which spread by aedes aegypti mosquito bites.

They are Oki (4), Oktaviani (9), Mardiah (14), Sarminah (60), Lilis (49), Sriganti (50), Manisa (48), Yuyun (43), Sumardi (54), Rosni (59), Eka (23), Zaenudin (35), and Sutini (30).
“There are 13 RW 01 residents infected with chikungunya. To prevent other residents from getting infected, together with sub-district community health center, we conduct fogging in that RW,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Head of West Jakarta Health Sub-Department, Widyastuti, disclosed that she has not received report from Kalideres Sub-District Community Health Center about dozens of RW 01 Semanan residents infected with chikungunya. For that, she asks the residents infected with chikungunya to immediately get treatment in community health center and reduce contact with other people to prevent the disease from spreading.
“We will intense fogging in the area. About chikungunya, all joints will feel painful and hurt. But usually, the disease would heal by itself,” she said.
